Counselling and psychotherapy
For adults and young people
I am a skilled and experienced person centred counsellor and use an integrative approach, working creatively, intuitively and empathically. I invite you to a safe space where you’ll feel empowered and supported to work through challenges and deepen your understanding, compassion and connection to self.
There are many reasons why therapy may be right for you at this time. You may be feeling stuck, depressed or anxious; you may be going through a transitionary phase in life, are having relationship issues, or perhaps you are feeling lost.
Whether you're driven by a desire to better understand why you are the way you are, make sense of a situation, or feel that something needs to shift - you will be truly heard, prized and safe in this space.
It is daunting when embarking upon this journey of self-discovery and growth. That's why it's important to find a therapist with whom you really connect.
What you can expect from me, first and foremost, is an acceptance and understanding of your unique experience. We will go at your pace. Whether you want to explore the past, present or future, I will guide the sessions to help you gain clarity and develop calmness, resilience and self-compassion. And through the therapeutic process, the choices that are right will present themselves, as you move towards your fullest potential.
I've successfully and effectively worked with a wide variety of issues. These include:
trauma and PTSD
emotional and sexual abuse
childhood issues, abuse and neglect
identity crisis including religious, cultural and spiritual
bereavement and loss
I am concerned with how we become who we are and how we exist interpersonally, embedded in a complex system of psychological and emotional experiences.
I grew up in London but have worked with a rich variety of clients from all walks of life, including members of BAME and LGBQTI+ communities.
My counselling training lasted for more than four years. I have a BA honours degree from the University of Westminster and am continuing my professional development at the internationally recognised NHS run institution, the Tavistock.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling.
As well as private practice, I work as a counsellor in the charitable sector.
Fees & Location
I offer short and long term therapy in-person and via zoom and telephone.
My fees are £55 per session, including the initial session. I have a limited number of reduced fee spaces for those on a low income or trainee counsellors.
We meet for 50 minutes at the same time and day each week.
My practice is based in Dalston, Hackney, in close proximity to Haggerston overground station and with easy access to/from Hackney, Islington and east London.
The area has a nice selection of coffee shops pre or post therapy sessions.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose a response. In our response lies our growth and freedom"
Please get in touch via email or telephone if you have any questions and would like to discuss further.
If you like, we can arrange an initial session to further our discussions and find out how therapy could work for you.
